The annual Pocket-lint Garget Awards is held every year in order to vote for the best mobile phone of the year. The Pocket-lint Gadget Awards 2010 is one of the hottest events now. 2010 has seen the power of Android super phones, the determination to set the bar ever higher of Apple, and Microsoft\'s renaissance with Windows Phone 7 as well. There are five nominees which have been chosen carefully, including iPhone 4, HTC Desire HD, samsung galaxy S, samsung Omnia 7, and BlackBerry Bold 9780. Only one among them will be the winner. Do you think which one will be the best one?

Apple iPhone 4

Although the phone has troubles with its antenna, iPhone 4 seems to get the first position at the Pocket-lint Garget Awards this year.

The iPhone 4 is the best smart phone of Apple\'s iPhone line of products  this year. It has been improved with a number of important elements like display, camera (with Flash), dual-microphone and larger battery. Its design has also been updated to use steel and aluminosilicate glass. However, its antenna has recently made a lot of controversy because this new antenna causes interferences when user\'s hand and the phone itself contact together.

samsung galaxy S

samsung galaxy S is an excellent phone with a huge and gorgeous screen

samsung has put more power into galaxy S by designing a powerful Android operating system, a speedy Swype keyboard, a responsive touchscreen with multi-touch support. Besides, the phone is equipped with FM radio and good pre-installed apps. The samsung galaxy S also has thin design and it is not too expensive.

BlackBerry Bold 9780

The most notable thing of the handset is the 5-megapixel camera, which offers up far superior shots than its forebear

There\'s not much to say about the 9780. The major changes from the previous version BlackBerry Bold 9700 are the improved BlackBerry 6 operating system, the 5-megapixel camera, and double the amount of internal Flash storage at 512MB. The 9780 shares the 9700\'s 480 x 360 pixel non-touch display, GPS, WiFi and 3.5G connectivity, Bluetooth, a microSD slot, a multimedia player and a 3.5mm audio socket.

HTC Desire HD

If you are looking for the ultimate smart phone, it is HTC Desire HD, the uber-smart phone which you\'ve been waiting for.

The HTC Desire HD won’t make you disappointed with a monstrous 4.3 inches screen. Although the smart phone doesn’t have the pin-sharp resolution of the iPhone 4 or the eye-burning saturation of the samsung galaxy S, it still looks very good indeed. Besides massive and bright screen, Desire HD also features aluminum case, good Facebook integration, and fast Web browser with Flash.

samsung Omnia 7

The samsung Omnia 7 makes the biggest impact among all the Windows Phone 7 handsets and it is the only Windows Phone 7 representative in the list.

The Omnia 7 is a nicely made smartphone. It features a 4in. Super AMOLED screen and a 5-megapixel camera. Although the handset doesn’t have the same DLNA-type connectivity with its cousin and it’s not going to be able to match it for apps, the Omnia 7 still wins it points for both originality and style.
